Uhh...is that poop...on my iPod?
Items that we still need to work on:
- Recognizing poop face before the diaper is off.
- Speed changing so we don't get peed on in the face.
- Tracking flyaway feces and cleaning it up promptly so our nursery doesn't smell like a campground biffy.
- Stopping Oliver from rearing back and arching his body with my tender nipple clenched in his mouth.
- Not waking up with every. single. noise.
- Referring to Oliver as a "him" instead of a "her" in the middle of the night.
- Getting to the boobs before they drip all over my son's face when he backs away without my noticing.
- Living in a non-delusional state.
- Being aware that we're not holding him in our dreams (i.e. Doug has put him in the bassinet and those are sheets that Blaine is cradling).
- Remembering that:
- It's two steps forward and one step back.
- It gets easier each day...or, rather, it's supposed to.
- Newborns are made for new parents.
